Calling All Desiring / Co-Creating Liberation
from Capitalism & White Supremacy & Cisheteropatriarchy & Ableism & Ageism & Colonialism & All Oppression & Tyranny
Queering Dreams has kicked into hyperdrive this week with a variety of events including Sketchnoting with Todd Berman, Improv Gateway with Momos Cheeskos, Reclaiming Stories, Dismantling Narratives with a Nadïne LaFond, and even A Space for Dreaming in co-creation with Philly-based artist and activist Keyssh and Kapi’olani Lee with the Alliance Youth Media Network.
And we’ve got even more coming up the rest of this week and all of next week, too. We’d love for you to join us at any of our events, especially A Space for Applied Dreaming with Crystal Mason & Jason Wyman. We have workshops this Friday at 4pm PT / 7pm ET and Saturday at 10am PT / 1pm ET. Space is limited to 12, and they are pay-what-you-can.
TUES, NOV 23 @ 4pm PT / 4pm ET: ART? QUEER? QUEER ART?
Join Juan Carlos Escobedo, Crystal Mason, and Jason Wyman for an intimate conversation across discipline, identities, territories, and ages about, What the hell is queer art? This is all in service to creating a virtual, intergenerational Queer Art School in 2022 that supports artists of all ages, experiences, disciplines, sexualities, and genders in learning from one another & co-creating a distributed, non-hierarchical response to the capitalist structures of art schools. If you are queer and/or trans and/or non-binary / gender non-conforming and artist, we’d love for you to join us!
Reclaiming Stories, Dismantling Narratives Excerpt
This is an excerpt from Nadïne LaFond's Reclaiming Stories, Dismantling Narratives workshop, which is a part of Queering Dreams November Events. We feel incredibly honored to co-create with Nadïne (and all our Co-Creators). And we wanted to share this little exchange from Nadïne's workshop to show the power of reclaiming our stories and figuring out how to bring what's in our past into new contexts within our present. Next week at Session Two, Nadïne will be using collage and assemblage art to take our presents into the future and imagine a world liberated from capitalism & White Supremacy & cisheteropatriarchy & ableism & ageism & colonialism & all oppression & tyranny.
